Disney's Fantasyland to get a Facelift?

So far this is just a "rumor" , but if this "rumor" turns out to be true then it would put an end to a debate most visitors engage in when visiting the park about new vs. classic rides and themes. Here are the blueprints that have been leaked on the internet showing some of the changes that would be made if it is indeed true.

Every time my friends and I go to the theme park, we invariably end up debating whether Disney needs some updating or keep its outdated charm. Most of us end up agreeing that the park could use some new paint here and there but by and large should keep its classic rides. So you can imagine how funny it was to find these floating around after years of these debates.

This is a current map of Fantasyland at Walt Disney World

When looking at these images overlapping it looks like Disney is planning on some huge changes, most looking to be for the better! Not only are they using areas that have been wasted space for decades but they are spacing out some of the current attractions as well as adding new ones. Hopefully this will turn into less of you walking shoulder to shoulder with strange people and shorter wait times on rides in this area.

The Dumbo attraction is being moved and expanded, presumably to address the slow load time of the ride. It will feature two side by side sections instead of only one.

Behind the Dumbo attractions an area called Pixie Hollow will be added. This area  will function as a meet-and-greet for Disney's new Fairies franchise.

Among other things there looks to be a restaurant or two, new unknown attractions, as well as more room for the classic Disney princesses to come out and meet everyone.

Walt Disney Imagineering (who are responsible for park designs) commented on the blueprint leak by saying:

"We are always looking at ways to enhance our guests' experience at all of our Disney theme parks and resorts. At this time, we have nothing new to announce."

But Disney is infamous for refusing to announce new rides and attractions until they have photos and marketing material that has been analyzed, perfected, and given the green light for public consumption. No need to fear though, as several cast members have commented on construction happening in Fantasyland as you read this.

As soon as we hear new information about the changes we will share it with you!
