Big Changes to Universal Studios Orlando CityWalk – About Time!

Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida are making some changes to their offerings at CityWalk.
Mini Golf
Work has started on TWO family friendly 18-hole mini golf courses at Universal CityWalk. The new courses are themed after 1950’s horror and science-fiction movies and will be called Hollywood Drive-In Golf. No official opening date, but completion is scheduled for early 2012.
One course will be “The Haunting of Ghostly Greens” and the second will be “Invaders from Planet Putt”. Both courses will be open day and night, and evening games will feature lighting around the edges of courses to add to the spooky ambiance. Expect elaborate scenes including a flying saucer, giant spider, and cemetery.
Construction has started below the first level of CityWalk and next to the AMC Cineplex, the completed courses will be visible when entering CityWalk from the parking garages.

By the way, if you want to see a preview of Universal Studios Orlando’s take on the 50’s, here is an image of Mel’s Drive In Diner. During Halloween Horror Nights, it conveniently transforms into Mel’s Die In.

Brazilian Steakhouse
The Latin Quarter Restaurant in CityWalk now features an upstairs dining room that serves “rodizio” style meat – which is essentially giant skewers of meat that are sliced and served tableside. Choose from filet mignon, roast beef, short ribs, lamb, port, and top sirloin.
