This ride opened in 2003 and in mid 2011 the ride was changed to a seasonal operational schedule. The official Close date is August 18th 2011. BUT a new and even better ride will take it's place: Despicable Me! The new ride will be another 3-D motion ride that features state of the art projection systems. Even better, there is an interactive minion dance party at the end. No official opening date has been released, but is scheduled to open in 2012.

• 2. The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

This is not technically shutting down, really it's more a remodel. Universal Studios announced that the new version of this ride will have all new digital animation done in the highest HD resolution available. This will allow guests to experience details they’ve never been able to before, and to take advantage of the new clarity, entirely new details will be added to the film. No official last day has been announced, but it will probably be after the summer so guests will not have to suffer one of the busiest times of year at the parks without this staple of Islands of Adventure. As with Despicable Me, it will reopen sometime in 2012.
