Finally some answers about what
Disney buying Marvel will do to
Universal Studios! Surprisingly it is not the theme park that comes up with the short end of the stick, it's the park guests.
Universal's Islands of Adventure has an entire section of the park dedicated to Marvel heroes and villains, one of the biggest questions after Disney bought Marvel was "What happens to Islands of Adventure?" The answer is an unlikely bond between rivals Disney and Universal Studios and possible antitrust complaints against them both.
Unfortunately for Universal Studios, Disney is now in charge of the contract that secured the Marvel characters in the Islands of Adventure theme park in the first place. Disney now has the right to look into all of Universal's legal and financial paperwork as well as promotional material pertaining to any of the Marvel characters. As bad as that sounds it's actually no so, this leaves a line of communication open for Disney and Universal Studios to attempt price-fixing anything and everything from on site hotels, ticket prices, discounts, etc.
In an attempt to ease these fears, Disney and Universal have signed an agreement saying that they will not share any confidential information with each other.
