We reported on a rumor that there would be a Legoland coming to Florida after Merlin Entertainment bought Cypress Gardens theme park. The rumor was true and Legoland Florida will arrive in 2011.
Legoland Florida will be the second Legoland park in North America, but it will be the largest one ever opened in the U.S. or over seas. It will be open all day everyday and will be ideal for families that have children between the ages of two and twelve. As of now the park is expected to have over 50 rides and attractions. Best of all (for us Florida residents anyway) the new Legoland should create more than 1,000 new jobs and will use local contractors to build and develop the park. Topping it all off, Merlin will be investing another $150 million dollars to upgrade the Cypress Gardens property to make it into the mega park they are planning.
