Disney Buys Stan Lee Too!

pow entertainment stan lee disneyAfter finishing up the sale of Marvel, Walt Disney has purchased a 10 percent stake in POW! Entertainment for $2.5 million. Pow! is a production company formed by the comic book legend Stan Lee.

Pow! has 20 new franchise characters in active stages of development and another 40 yet to be introduced. Disney is also acquiring exclusive consulting services and unspecified "enhanced rights" from POW! Entertainment. Smart move considering they now own all of Marvel's insignificant characters, they will definitely need some help developing them to a level they can market.

Stan Lee went to his twitter account to assure fans that this was a good move, saying "best thing that could happen."
