Marvel Entertainment Inc. said Thursday (12/31/09) that its shareholders at a special meeting approved the company's deal to be acquired by Walt Disney Co. Marvel, which owns such popular comic-book icons as Spider-Man, Iron Man and X-Men, said it expects the deal, which is valued at about $4.3 billion based on Disney's closing price Wednesday, will be completed after the market closes Thursday.
