Marvel Stockholders to Decide Fate of Disney Merger on December 31

Marvel has announced the date of the final step towards making its merger with the Walt Disney Company official.
On December 31 at 9am EST, Marvel stockholders will meet to vote on the $4 billion deal.
Should the vote pass, Marvel will begin 2010 as a part of Disney.
To sweeten the deal the Walt Disney Company board declared an annual cash dividend of $0.35 per share, payable on January 19, 2010 to shareholders of record at the close of business December 14, 2009.
The planned merger will give Disney the rights to Marvel's extensive catalog of characters, although there is still some confusion among the public about how Universal Studios Islands of Adventure will fit into the Disney Marvel merger. Islands of Adventure uses Marvel characters for a large percentage of their rides.
I hope the stockholders know a little bit more than the rest of us do about what the merger will mean for both Disney and Marvel. At this point there have been no real announcements about Disney's plans for Marvel. But it is being reported that there is no evident resistance from employees of either company or shareholders.
