Disney World Epcot Launches New Attractions: Sum of All Thrills

Epcot at Disney World Florida opened Sum of All Thrills today, Wednesday October 13th. It's a mix of Roller Coaster Tycoon and Virtual Reality. Riders get to design their own 90 second rides on a touch screen and then actually ride it! After designing your roller coaster you are seated on an electric arm mechanism that seats two people. These electronic arms can move in 100 different ways but the sequence of motions is virtually limitless. The Disney team even added things like wind to make your roller coaster seem more real.
Sum of All Thrills is presented by Raytheon, which is a company dedicated to building stronger math skills in children.
"The Sum of All Thrills" will be a core component of Raytheon's MathMovesU program, an initiative designed to engage middle school students in math and science, and help create the next generation of innovators for the U.S. It will be located in the INNOVENTIONS pavilion at Epcot, a unique area of the park that contains 100,000 square feet of interactive, hands-on exhibits that allow visitors to celebrate the inspiration and innovation that improve their lives and expand their horizons."

Disney is understandably very proud of their newest attraction. Dan Cockerell who is the vice president of Epcot said:
"Disney parks are well known for their creativity and innovation. Raytheon's Sum of all Thrills is a perfect addition to INNOVENTIONS, which was built in part to showcase cutting-edge technology. This immersive experience, our first-ever INNOVENTIONS ride, will inspire young guests to embrace math and science and the important role these subjects play in our lives."
Approval was through the roof today as hundreds tweeted their excitement. The lucky few that were there for the grand unveiling uploaded several videos and pictures to keep the rest of us entertained until we get there ourselves.
